Awareness Program Organized at Hirdenagar School on World AIDS Day

An awareness program was organized at Hirdenagar Higher Secondary School on the occasion of World AIDS Day under the guidance of the Jagriti Yuva Manch Committee and District AIDS Control Officer Dr. Sumit Singor. Students spread awareness about HIV/AIDS through various activities. DRP Mr. Vikas Thackeray, Zonal Supervisor Gyanlata Parihar, Abhishek Dubey, Harshita Maravi, and Basant Patel from the Vihaan Samagra Project were special guests. All guests provided valuable information to the students on AIDS infection, prevention, misconceptions, and the correct facts. School Principal Mrs. Lilavati Dhurve, addressing the program, said that the most effective way to prevent AIDS is awareness and correct information. She encouraged students to spread health awareness in the community. As part of the program, students organized an awareness rally in the village, raising slogans such as "Awareness is Safety." The highlight of the program was a giant red ribbon symbol created by the students. Students also actively participated in an essay competition on the topic "HIV/AIDS Awareness and Our Responsibility." Members of the Jagriti Yuva Manch Committee provided students with simple information about HIV transmission and prevention methods, safe practices, ART treatment, and government services. Mr. Vikas Thackeray explained that HIV-infected individuals can live long, healthy lives with ART medications. These medications are available free of charge at the ART Center in Jabalpur. During the program, students and teachers pledged to spread the message of AIDS awareness to the community. This program, held at Hirdenagar Higher Secondary School on the occasion of World AIDS Day 2025, was a highly successful and impactful event.
